On October 19, 2025, FC Kwara United secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Katsina United in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 9 encounter at the Rashidi Yekini Main-Bowl, George Agbazika Innih Stadium, Ilorin, Kwara State. A stunning long-range strike by Yahya Ibrahim in the 82nd minute sealed the win for the "Harmony Boys".

The match was tense from the beginning, with both teams creating scoring opportunities in the first half. Katsina United's goalkeeper denied Johnmark Aule's shot and Bright Babatunde's header, while Kwara United's Nurudeen Badmus made crucial saves to keep the visitors at bay.

Kwara United came out stronger after the restart, dominating possession in search of a breakthrough. A tactical substitutions saw Issa Gata and Ini Emmanuel replace Junior Aimufua and Gidado Toheeb, adding more firepower upfront. This move paved the way for Ibrahim Yahaya's decisive goal. Later in the game, Akanni Akeem replaced Philip Ozor, and Seun Ogunribide came on for Kabir Mohammed, as Coach Ashifat Suleiman's side looked to protect their lead. Katsina United pressed for an equalizer late on, but Kwara United's defense stood firm to secure the three (3) points.

Yahya Ibrahim, the AGK Academy product, was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance and winning goal. Speaking after the game, Coach Ashifat Suleiman acknowledged the match's difficulty but praised his players' winning mentality, most especially, Yahya's quest for improvement in every match this season. He emphasized the team's focus on winning the league title this season, especially after their FA Cup victory last season.

With this result, FC Kwara United now has 12 points from nine games and sits 10th on the NPFL log. Their next match is against Rangers International in Enugu State, Nigeria.
